Default I have a confession to make

Out of all the vehicles I own (see my signature) My 98 ZJ is my favorite. Yep you heard that right. Maybe it's from years of only owning sports cars and sport bikes but ever since I bout my Grand a few weeks ago I can't stop driving it and exploring places I could never go before.

When I bought the Viper it was a life long dream of mine to own one but it's just been sitting in my garage for the last two weeks. Now don't get me wrong I still love the other cars but there is just something about the Jeep that keeps me craving more. Just thought I would share my new love of my Jeep.

you have a 2.3l in your lightening? i kind of think maybe you accidentally hit the 2 since it is right below the 5?

i like the zj also. i am fixing one for a friend's sister right now and it was so nice to drive around. i miss it and am considering swapping the interior on my xj to try and replicate the zj

No the engine is a 5.4L the supercharger is a Whipple 2.3 liter. So basically the supercharger is larger than a Honda motor

That's cause you don't own an XJ.

Nothing wrong with the ZJs, though. My brother has one that'd make a nice trail rig with some work. Plus his 5.2L sounds mean.

Honestly and no offense but I can't stand how XJ's look. They look old and outdated and I can't stand the boxy look of them. I'm more of a aerodynamic look kind of guy and I like the fact that the ZJ is rugged on the outside but civilized on the inside. I've never seen the inside of an XJ but if it's anything like the outside then no thanks.

Hi I have just bought my first XJ and it is ace and the interior is better than the ZJ because it does not ressemble something from a sofa shop.
As for the old fashioned looks it's the square lines that I love about the XJ real mean looking like it has purpose unlike the ZJ which is trying to hard to hide from society!
Each to his own though at at least it is a Jeep.

Here is some pics of the interior

The inside of mine isn't so bad. I actually have ZJ leather seats in it that are very comfy. My previous seats were comfortable, but had to replace them because the seat frame broke. The back seat is a bit cramped and hard to get in and out of. Other than that, it's not so bad.

I like my 96 zj. the interior is so nice and from the sounds of it it is just as good off road stock as a xj stock. And i couldn't pass on the 5.2L. I was going to buy a xj at first but i saw my zj for around the same price and thought that the V8 would really help out (and it has)

Don't feel bad about liking the ZJ over everything else... I have my 2003 Neon back for a while (my kids use it more than I do) and despite getting it exclusively for the mileage, my secret pleasure is it is a lot of fun to drive in mountain passes... 5 speed manual and SRT4 springs...

I wouldn't mind owning a ZJ .... for a DD anyway. Then I could park my XJ and work on it and still have something to drive around while it was being worked on.

I have owned both and the zj is def more comfortable but the xj is just more rugged. I love them both but give me an xj any day.
