Default I Hate Wasting a Day of Mudding

Yesterday our local off-road group held a mud event on one of the member's private property. When I got there I didn't get to mud my cherokee but 10 minutes before anti-freeze started blowing out of the reservoir. I replaced the thermostat and it still continued to overheat.

I have an 88 cherokee with 35's, and there are no cracks in any of the tubes. I've read about upgrading to the open cooling system but still believe I should be able to drive 100 yards without overheating on a closed system.

Any suggestions??? I've read something about replacing the radiator cap, but would that honestly have anything to do with it? I called Vatozone and they said they have the OEM or one with a breather, which would you recommend (if any?)

The cap could be your problem, they get warped and then let coolant blow out when they get hot. i read something on naxja about putting a clamp around the cap to keep it tight and avoid it blowing off

I had nothing but problems with renix cooling system. I would just do the upgrade along with a CFS rad.
Ever since I switched it's been a nice cool ride.

What do I need to switch? Would a radiator off a 92 laredo work?
