those grands had lots of electrical issues. its all over jeepforums and the other forums.
person experience on those, as my sister in law had one, is the motor and tranny are great (obviously) but the window regulators broke alot and she had issues with the interior lights and headlights regularly. she traded it as soon as she got a chance

Engine: 4.0 high output, Alabama Cylinder head, 60mm bored TB
My dad had a '99 and put 180k on it without much issue. This included towing every other weekend. The two problems he had were with the radiator leaking and the A/C seemed to not keep a charge. The A/C didn't work so great when he bought it though. It was very reliable. If I didn't buy an XJ, I would've got a WJ.

4.0L unstoppable
has a flag
amazing price
great miles for a 2000
doesn't look like an xj
cons:
looks like base model
wj is much more difficult/expensive to get mods for than xj/zj
not going to blow ricers off the road all the time
