i know how to install on a 95, and a 97.. but 96's confuse me..

Your going to need to find a 96 specific cherokee forum...

just kidding...

what do you need help with? did it come with an add-a-leaf or did it come with Lift blocks?

the install on all of the parts is pretty simple, post up your concerns and im sure you will get it done properly!

looks like just springs and blocks to me
Put the jeep on jackstands at the frame and a floor jack under the axle then
just diconnect your track bar from the axle side, your tierod at the castle nut and remove your shocks. Then you should be able to lower down the axle enough to put in the new springs. Make sure to seat the springs all the way agianst the spring retainers. Then just jack the axle back up and reconnect the track bar and tie rod end to your steering. You may need to move your track bar over about 3/4 an inch to get your axles recentered under the jeep. I'm not sure with a 3" lift and no new lower control arms. But if you do its just a matter of drilling a hole into the bracket on the axle side about 3/4 an in towards the driver side and rehooking your stock trac bar in that location.

As for the rear with it being blocks just put the jeep back on jackstands in the rear this time. jack the axle up enought to get the pressure off the ubolts and remove them. Lower axle down enough to get the blocks in (be sure to put the thick part of the block in the rear) then install new ubolts.

You mayneed to take your brake lines loose from the jeep and be sure to take your shocks off so they don't hang you up. Once you finished get an alignment and you should be good to go.
Do a search on the site there's tons of info on doing these lifts on the xj with way more info than what I gave there. Also you can go to roughcountry. com and download the instructions from the site. Good luck

does rough country sell a 3" lift with just blocks in the back? The only kits I've seen were add a leaf or full leaf packs...
