How to tie two straps together

yeah, it could work in a pinch, with all respect to doing it safely. i wouldn't do a hard ****** recovery with it, i would still loop the strap through the ends and use a floor mat or even a glove to stop them from fusing together.
but in reality, we should all be fully prepared and stocked with the proper tools if we ever take our vehicles off road.
don't go out unprepared. simple as that. the proper tools are cheaper than an accident/injury.

I carry two 3" by 30' straps and a piece of axe handle about 8" long to connect them.
I've seen a strap with hooks break loose and bust out the rear window of a late 80s Blazer,
believe me when I say it was scary as hell, especially for the guy in the Blazer the hook
landed on his center console.
