Well they're as safe as anything else. They're not going anywhere after the torque I put down on them and the hitch has been through many uses.

The passenger side has weld nuts in the unibody already, so one side is basically as shown and the other is welded.

How much has the hitch arrangement changed from year to year on Cherokees? Someone I know is offering one off their 95, would this fit my 99?

Ok got the hitch! thanks for the help guys. What size grade 8 carriage bolts should I get? Does only the driver side need the square plates? Also currently I have a rear hook on similar to the one in this picture. Is it at all possible to keep this on with the hitch?
