Default How to patch a sidewall hole

I have a large hole in my jeep tire and I want to do whatever I can to avoid having to buy a new tire. (They're new)
I was told I could put a tractor boot on the inside of the hole, then put a tube inside the tire. Will this work? Keep in mind this is a trail rig, top speeds of 40 mph, no highway use, just light offroad and mud.

Man I don't think there is a way to patch that, alot of tire shops won't even patch even a pinhole sized hole if its in a sidewall, let alone a hole the size of a baseball, I think your s**t out of luck.

No reputable shop will touch it. It's a blow-out at 75 MPH waiting to happen. Protect yourself and those that you share the road with and toss it in the scrap pile.

Offroad use. No highway. Dirt roads. I know shops won't do it, but I can have it done, just curious as to if you guys think it will work. OFFROAD ONLY. Creepin' along

Man I understand times are tight, I feel ya but even for just off road use I wouldn't deal with it, even if somehow you got it to seal, your'e just asking for trouble. Check out craigslist and see if you can find a used set of tires if you can't buy new, theres always sweet deals on craigslist.

That tire is junk, do not even think of using it even as a spare. Maybe you can make some really cool sandles out of that tire.

Bondo, super glue, and zip ties. That's how we fixed everything in the shop at school.

No but seriously, that's a bad incident waiting to happen

You could run a tube in it, but it will bulge out at the hole, unless you patched it up somehow. It still seems like it would be a risk.
