I happen to know where a pre '97 cherokee console is and am wondering if it is worth pulling and selling, I know that with there mounting bracket, wiring harnesses and console they are worth some good money but am not sure as to how much I should ask, was thinking $175? The only one for sale I can find is on eBay for $300 shipped, I feel like that's a rip off, any idea? (Ps if anyone is interested let me know)

 

Pre 97 are a dime a dozen at local JY.
97 and up are bit harder to find but can be had for $20-50.

 

Then how come every other source I doing puts them well over $100 (with bracket and hardware

 

I would pay about $50 for one, but that's about it.

if you can pick it up on the cheap and don't need it you can also use it to trade worth $50ish if you have something else you need.

always nice to have a little leverage, but I agree I can't see spending even $75 for a really clean one

 

So are 99+ worth any more? I saw one on eBay for $300, thought that was high and was gonna try to sell the pre 97 for half that, good thing I haven't bought it yet

 

Just because someone is asking $300 doesn't mean they'll get it.

Yeah like I said I thought it was a little high and if I decide to get and sell the one I found I was only gonna look for about half, but looks like it's not even worth it

 

Maybe on ebay. Probably not on a forum. We all know you can find them at the JY for $20 - $30. I understand it takes time and gas to go out and pull it, $50 - $60 seems fair for something that only takes a few minutes to pull.

 

I have personally only seen 2 pre 97 overhead consoles. 1 in my XJ and 1 I have for sale. I also have only seen 1 97+ which is also for sale. eBay prices seemed to have been $100-300 a few weeks ago, depending on if the wiring and visors are included.

The most expensive one seems to be a mini overhead console for XJs with sunroofs.

 

I paid $20 for the overhead console I'm planning on putting in my MJ. Came with the shorter visors too.
Then i paid $300 for an entire XJ with an overhead console.

 

That's one way to do it.
