7.5 inches, 3 kids 9, 8, and 6. They crawl up the rear tire and want me to go higher. I said no that's enough. The wife is 5'3" and every know and then she might say something, but i knida like it when she has to lift up her skirt a bit.

I'm in Flower Mound. Thanks for the offer! I've read that the RE 3.5 kits usually add a little over 4" so that would be a really good test. If you wouldn't mind doing that, when I get my XJ in a few weeks we can arrange a time and I'll drive it over.

I was planning to get rock sliders without a step at some point, so getting them with a step wouldn't be a problem. The TNT Custom rocks sliders are nice! Thanks for the pics and links!

X2, I'm in Fort Worth and wouldn't mind if you wanted to come by to test mine out as well. I have a 6.5" lift on 33s. I also have rock sliders that help a bit. My lady is 5'4" and she has no problems getting in and out. Occasionally she will wear a skirt or dress when we go out so I just make sure I'm blocking other people from peeping when she is getting in and out of the jeep. Right foot on the rock slider, right hand on the grab handle, step up and in, no problems.

Both of our wives would most likely kick our azz if they knew we posted their ages online lol. On the sliders with the tube coming out I bought a set of those used and mocked them up on the XJ. My wife was not able to get her foot up that high to climb in the cab, in fact it stuck out far enough where she couldn't get her hip on the seat then YMMV I ended up with flush mounted ones. I have had them on trucks before as a step and all it ever did for me was get my pants leg dirty from touching them I'm 6'4 1/2".

If you look on the floor behind the saw horses with my roof rack you can see them and a photo of my XJ at 4 1/2" with 33's.

Shoot brother, you and I are real close. I'm only 10-15 min from Flower Mound. PM me when you're ready. As you've probably read there's a couple of us willing to help you get started to make sure your wife is comfy with your choice.

ps, there are probably more XJ's around you than you realize yet, but those big, heavy pig JK's are very popular.

Thanks guys! Much appreciated! Now I just have to get my XJ. Found out yesterday BofA messed up the electronic title release and AZ MVD mailed the title to my old address in Peoria rather than my current address in TX. I had to submit a duplicate title request and they said it will take another 4-6 weeks. Hopefully less, AZ is usually pretty quick about getting titles sent out.

Yeah, I can see that happening with the steps. I like the looks of the normal rock sliders better too. Think I'll go with the normal sliders and figure out the right height so she won't have a problem getting in.
