For the rear we new it's some sort of AAL and block lift and stock shackles, I would say 2" block and 3" AAL based on the pictures.

Yeah I know that now. What axle is better the Dana 35 or Chrysler 8.25?

8.25, but you might have the 27 or 29 spline version depending on when in '96 your jeep was made. A 27 spline is a hair stronger than the D35 due to the bigger tubes, but a 29 spline version which was from the late '96+ models are on par with the D44. If you don't plan on running anything bigger than 33s you should be fine with even the 27 spline, but I would look for a different axle if you are looking to go 35+, either the 29 spline 8.25, D44, Ford 8.8, if you have the 27 spline version.

I'm pretty sure I have a 8.25 but I don't know specifically which one

The build sheet if you contact a local Jeep dealership should be able to help you, or pull the axle and count.

Bomb has got you 100% on the right track with your rear end setup. 4.5" leafs, extended shackles, and hd off-road shackle brackets.

When I was looking for leafs they were all pretty far out of my price range so I made a bastard pack with s10 springs. Super easy and rides great with the proper shackle angle.

If I could do it again I would change a couple things: All said and done my leafs netted me about 3.5" of lift, then my shackle and no lift shackle brackets got me to about 6". I wish I had used a shorter shackle (still longer than stock) and the relocation brackets that give about an inch of lift.

Thank you and exactly. I would say get the leafs and shackles first and see how the angle of the shackle is. Some, like me, have no need for the relocators since my angle is fine.

try Craigslist if you don't find any at the yard. The s10 springs I bought were $50 and already out of the vehicle.

Look on YouTube for "how to make a bastard pack" by "bleepinjeep".

If you've never seen bleepinjeep's videos I highly recommend checking them out.

Yeah I have watched them. I watch most of them. The bastard pack he makes is 3.5 I need 4.5. Of could I just do 3.5 and get 1-2 inch shackles?

It's kinda a crap shoot with how much lift you'll end up with. Trial and error really. I got lucky with mine and ended up with the exact amount of lift I wanted on the first go.

What is the most amount of lift you can get out of shackle?
