How many out there use XJ for DD
I DD mine. Why? I figure I can buy a lot of gas for what another car payment and insurance would cost. I'm at 4.5" and 32's with 4.56 gears.Yes, it's that important to me to have it lifted. I go places with it that I couldn't possibly go without a lift and bigger than stock tires. Honestly I'd be much more comfortable in something else as a DD, but can't justify the cost of another vehicle while the XJ would just sit.

The Peep, 89 Laredo liftin her skirts at 3.5 on 31's, Daily Driver, 589500km on the clock, will roll 590 by wednesday. The old girls Funometer is maxed in Smiles per gallon.
i used to DD my MJ. wasnt even radical, 3" lift, 31s, no sway bars. i bought a $1300 toyota Paseo and it was seriously the best thing i did. rides much nicer and is WAY more practical. 29 mpg > 13 mpg. plus the toyota has AC while my MJ doesnt. yeah i have to own and keep up two vehicles but its worth it IMO.
you dont need another car payment to have a decent DD that still beats the XJ in practicality.
dont get me wrong, i still love driving the MJ (its way more fun) but the piece of mind of a dedicated, reliable, comfortable DD is awesome

Mine is a stock DD. I like the idea of routine maintenance over a car payment and higher insurance. The only time mine is off pavement is at the junkyard, fishing, or camping. All of which it has handled well.

Same here. It's honestly the only thing I have to DD. I drive 45 minutes 1 way to work, so, until I get a good amount of money saved up, it's staying bone stock. (maybe I'll put a cooler bumper on if I can find some old steel laying around the farm) I wanna take it off-roading sooo bad, but, where?
