Seems a little steep to me. Either shop around some more, or try to talk em down. You should be able to find one a little cheaper than that IMHO.

x2 my dad has a 03 ranger with like 20,000 miles or less i had to steal it to do the 3rd oil change

I beg to differ. If you maintain them properly, they will apparently run forever. Esp. if they have the 4.0. There are certain issues they have, like all vehicles, but if you follow this website, and read up on other peoples' experience, you can keep it running forever.

The Cherokee is just an easy vehicle to work on.

89 pushing 191....and some odd numbers after that! Runs like a champ, had some minor issues as most vehicles do at this age, but luckily it had been maintained before i purchased it, so they were easy fixes for the most part lol

My 87 just went over 205k, got it 1 1/2 years ago for a grand w/189k. cleaned it up and replaced all the gaskets and seals I could get to. runs like a top. Last winter I was making 200 mile round trips every other weekend through the passes in southern Oregon to pic up my kids at freeway speeds, no problems!!!
