how many miles do you have?
92 cherokee 214***k
po rear ended someone previously, body is quite rusted and dented.
I plan to modify the lower half to cover all the rust spots. Possibly diamond plate wrap the lower half. if it doesnt cost 5x what I paid ($250)
runs good, needs a water hose adjusted (slight leak at water pump) replaced the thermostat housing due to crack from po replacing thermostat.
Currently just tuned up with new plugs, filter n oil.
Will be flushing tranny with new fluid soon.
Exhaust will be replaced in the near future as soon as I pick up the rest.
I plan to check the gears oil, what should I fill with?

the reason I bought an Xj is because of a friend of mine.
Drove coast to coast across Canada and the USA on a regular bais's.
His had 480,000 on it when he decided to rebuild for reliabilty reasons.
The shop tore into it and called him and said it did not need rebuilt!
He did anyway, but that's not the point.
He did GOF every 3000 miles and wheeled the peepee out of it.
Mine has 178,000 miles, burns no oil (just changed it this afternoon and for kick's I filled the jugs with the old oil... no oil consumed (by visual inspection, I'm sure an accurate scale may have picked up "some" loss of oil).
I GOF every 3000 miles, wheel it hard and put 2000 hard miles thru the mountains on mine every month running 2500-3000rpm for 3-4 hours at a time..
