my 87 xj has 458.000 and still runs

My 95' XJ has 63,000 original miles on it. Still running like new. LOL It might make it to 300,000 but I don't think I'll see it.

94 2wd XJ. Killed by a van with 160k miles on it in 2000.

2000 XJ 190k miles when I sold it

97 XJ 195k when I sold it. Previous owner swapped in a 90k miles JY engine at 160k miles.

95 XJ (current) guesstimating 210k miles or so. History check when I bought it showed an odometer discrepancy between two registration years. One year was 195,000 the next was 178,000. I'm guessing a speedometer swap was performed at some time from a salvage unit. Unknown if this is the original engine.

Had a 94 with 272,000 miles on it when I finally stopped driving it. It was beat and basically horribly taken care of but it was still running pretty dang good all things considered. I guarantee you it was run hot 100 times or more (long story). Never even blew the head gasket.

I got my 89 and the 94 was so beat by then and it was beginning to not want to crank during or directly after a rain (????) so I finally retired it.

My 89 has 125,000 miles on it. I am taking much better care of it. I try to keep my grounds cleaned, the oil changed, the transmission fluid topped off, and it's only even been run all the way hot once, it was right after I got it and I forgot the coolant was empty after working on it haha.

Sometimes in the Summer it was wanting to to creep up in traffic. I'd cut it off at a stop light before I let it run hot or pull over for 10 minutes. I finally seemed to mostly solve that with a new radiator and flushing it every Summer really good to clean everything out, then use fresh coolant and keep it topped off. Hope this year it does ok in the heat.

I have seen them in the junk yards many times with 250,000 to 350,000 miles.

Still trying to find one with at least 500,000 miles. I read a story about a man once who had an XJ with over 600,000 miles. Original owner and he took extremely care of it.

I found the story. It's a Renix manual. This is from 2011. Simply Incredimail. I wonder where it's at now?

Sorry, but your gauge is wrong or the sending unit is broken. 60 psi ain't happening at idle.

my 2001 just passed 250k yesterday. im the second owner but bought it 20 years ago with only 15k on it. I’ve taken decent care of it and it hasn’t let me down. Celebrated yesterday by getting stuck in the mud and winching myself out. Lol

major repairs have been

head gasket at like 75k.

completely replaced cooling system twice, preventative.

bearings, bushings. Usual stuff.

still runs great and everything works. Just leaks a little oil at the moment.

My '92 is at 260k, and is still running good. Or at least the engine is.

Geez, feel like my ‘95 2d SE is a spring chicken with 86K miles :)
