Default how do you avoid overheatin while muddin

i was just curious how you guys keep from overheating when you go mudding because when i bought my jeep it was knocking and had been ovheating due to mudding and i seen a xj last night covered in mud smoking like it was on fire and i can only figure he was running super hot from the mud so what is it you guys do and how do you keep the radiaor clean because i know people have been mudding for ever and if it broke stuff everytime they wouldnt still be hittin the holes

Well if mud gets in the radiator it wont kill it, or much cause it to over heat. I just usually hose mine down or go through a car wash or something to rid myself of the extra mud about twice a month. If it get worse, flush your radiator out and check your engine fans. The only real things you should worry about with mud is getting stuck and drowning your air filter.

i wired my clutch fan to a switch and just turn it on when it gets hot

From what I've read you can get temp gauges, putting a fan on your radiator by taking the one off your motor and Hood vents.

hood vents help alot, ive got them and you can just see the heat pouring out of them when im sitting still, also the efan upgrade will help tons, keep the factory one the way it is and run a switch to the other one, and you can definitely say youll probably never overheat again
