I was just wondering how capable a Cherokee with a 3-3.5 inch lift and 31s is? With lockers front and rear, skidded, proper recovery gear. Everything you need, is a 4.5 or 6.5 long arm lift really that much better? This goes for any offroading. Thanks

I have the exact set up that you are describing. 3" RC lift, 31" mud terrains, aussie front and rear, sliders and skid plates. In my personal opinion, it is pretty unstopable. Minus huge rocks or super deep mud nothing stops me. If you are just testing the waters or wheeling on a budget this set up is ideal.

The driver matters more than tires or lift.

3.5" on 31s and Lockers will be far more capable than 4.5" 33s and open thats for sure.

Honestly, if you had like a 3.5" lift with bushwackers 32s or 33s, the correct bumpstops, and lockers, you would be set for just about anything.

Ok thanks everyone. I'm debating between a 3/3.5 inch lift or going all out the first time and going long arms from the start. I think if I go 3 I'll want to go higher and I just wasted all that money on a lift I don't want anymore. I want a 4.5 inch lift on 32s or 5.5 on 33s of I go long arms. Obviously if I go long arms I will have to wait longer to save up $$$$
