You should do what you want. It's your own xj, why should anyone tell you differently? If he didn't want anyone copying why share the picture/video with anyone online? It just doesn't make sense to me. What's he going to do if you copy him? Honestly...some people.

I try not to give away my ideas ether, I build some pretty unique stuff and don't like to see exactly the same thing on anyone else's Jeep. I also try and keep my crazy schemes to my self so no one can pirate my idea before I can make it happen. I look at it this way; if you see something you like, use that as motivation, and inspiration to build your own in your way. Don't do it exactly the same, try and make it your own without plagiarizing someone else's work.

You can take 2 CJ grilles and weld them together. Take the tops of both.

Sounds pretty easy. Its a lot of work though Im sure. Its hard to get a round grille to match the squared contore of the stock headlight surounds.

I have seen pics and vids of his XJ before and I like it for the styling and his individualism. I don't blame him, or anyone for that matter, that comes up with a design that they don't feel like sharing. It is a free world and you can share or not share as you want, but to start this "some people" stuff is just rude.

I try to pride in myself with coming up with my own designs and have some individualizism in my Cherokee. Why would I want mine to look like every other one on the road. Another thing because I don't want someone to copy I shouldn;t post pictures of it??? Give me a break!!!! I have made life long friends from all over the world because of my posted pictures of my Cherokee. It is funny that I went to Donner California for the West Coast Championships for my RC Rock Crawler and have people come up to me, knowing me by my screen name or first name basis because of my Cherokee. If I wanted 100 cherokees that look like mine I would build and sell tube fenders, grilles, roll cage kits, 4 link kits, etc....

I am not trying to be a jerk and if asked I will try to help people out with their tech and fab needs, but because someone asks me a question and I give them an honest answer, I become "some people".
I agree.
