Default How big is to big?

How big of a lift is to big for rock crawling and trails? I'm about to lift my xj up from 4.5 to 8in can I go higher. should I get bigger axles if I do go Bigger then 8in

8 inches sounds high to me, how big a tire are you wanting to run. I would think the size tire that would need 8 inches to clear is probably too big for the stock axles.

why would you ever do that. the idea is to stay low to the ground SO YOU DONT END UP ON YOUR LID!!!

if you go 8" lift go with full width axles.

mine is 8" of lift and 38s with 44/9" combo

full width however is the one exception to the rule.

yea 8" is pushing it personally. for a crawler 6" with full widths and a lot of trimming/bumpstops and some iroks sounds about right.

anything over 6.5" of lift is completely unnecessary IMO
