Buy a code reader from your local auto parts store, then you can read the codes and clear them after the problem is FIXED.

Disconnecting the negative terminal from the battery should clear the code. However, if the issue isn't fixed, the CEL will come back on, since there is still a problem.

the only way to clear them is to disconnect the power leads and hold them to negative for 30 seconds to a minute. The only problem in doing so is you also reset the computer so for the next 50 starts it is re learning your driving style....

or take it down to AZ and have them read the codes and you can clear it on their reader

AZ won't let you clear codes with their reader, they said it's because of a lawsuit. However, you can buy, or "rent" as they call it, one of their readers, and return it when you're done.

i have an obdII and i use the positive to negative method before. works just fine but again the down side is your computer has to relearn which can be a good or a bad thing depending on how you drive

I guess the ones here are just more strict, because i've tried that at a few different places, and none of them will let me do that.
