hood vents????

Default hood vents????

is it worth cutting into a decent hood too put vents in? do you gain anything or are they just for the look?

They're to let out excess heat and bring the temperature down.

But with a well kept up cooling system, they are not necessary in my opinion

I like the way they look if they are done right, and yeah they can help keep the engine cool. people also do the one inch spacers on the top of the hood to raise it up and let more air in.

I did it because I was starting to get heat soak issues and had very high underhood temps( not cooling temps) when running through the dunes or beating on it hard offroad. The vents seem to have really helped.

I fabricated a 2" cowl induction hood and it works pretty well at keeping temp down and pushing more air in. My intake is a lot louder now under WOT.

Could be worth it, my comanche heats up a helluva lot during low speed stuff.
