Default Hood struts/ ZJ Skid

well i hit the junk yard today. i picked up 2 trunk struts and a gas tank skid plate off a zj. first off will the skid plate fit a 2000 XJ? and i know thats its been done before and ive tried to find pics. how do you mount a strut for the hood? ive seen the pics before but i cant find em anywhere.

yes the skid will fit with modification. Best way to do it is if you have a hitch, pull that off because you will need to unbolt it anyway and line up the holes and ream or expand the ones that dont lind up as well. I did mine this way and only had to ream 2 if i remember correctly. Also had to cut like a 1 inch strip off of the exhaust heat shield on the bottom of it to mount the skid with out touching it. No big deal but that material is pretty strong whatever it is lol.
