I'm thinking about doing this to mine too. You don't need any fancy kit or anything. Washers will work fine. I guess it would look nicer with one spacer though.
I really want to get hood Vents and not even shim my hood but until I find a set that's not a million dollars... Lol

ok so I am gonna be the old fart and bad guy here and just say think twice about doing this especially if this is your daily driver...the hood is designed from the factory to crumple in a V pattern if struck in the front (notice all cars that rearended some one it is in this pattern after hitting the car in front)....what helps this process??...the cowl...if you raise the back of the hood you have a greatly increased risk of the hood not doing its job and come right into the windshield which is NOT good...trust me I have seen it and it was scary...so..think about it...an accident can happen ANY TIME ANYWHERE
now back your regular scheduled programing

p.s if you are running hot something in your cooling system isnt up to par...the vehicle didnt run hot when it was new right??..so just go thru your cooling system and enjoy the ride...I hate when people do things to cover up a problem instead of just making it right...you can go thru and REPLACE the WHOLE system for less then 300.00 easy

I got mine done. Helps a decent amount out on the trails.
I got a little brave and went night wheeling and got stuck pretty good.
Got out and i'm only missing the plastic piece that goes under the bumper!
I'll post pics tomorrow lol

I used washers and longer bolts, I also cut vents right on top of my serpentine belt I seen about a 10* change in temp when I done that trail riding and daily driving, I also have a 180* tstat and new water pump now and it runs about 195-210 all the time now.
i will agree, there is a risk with doing this to the jeep, but, for me, i'm not overly concerned. any modding runs the risk of something bad happening, but it doesn't stop people from lifting their rig 8 inches or even 5 inches and running it on stock tires for a while (yes i have seen it). dont get me wrong, i'm all for giving poeple warnings and letting them know what could happen. the more you know, the better your choices can be.
