Forward facing scoop will take in water, just remember that.

I like my forward scoops though
If you only do one..... You have that shape in the middle of your hood it will look funny with that impression going under your scoop

I've found forward scoops when equipped with louvers on the very rear of the hood make the engine bay the coolest, air going in and air venting out

I say as long as you cut the hood underneath to make them functional they are NOT rice. With rice, I thing of random things taped to the car that do nothing. If it works, its ok if they look good.

Personally, I like them better than vents. I'm going to look around at the different styles and pick one that fits my liking...

Neither. The first doesn't look like it has an opening, and the cowl (although it looks better) won't match the body lines if thats important to you...If it didn't have that ridge down the center I'd say pick that one...

I agree. Cooling the xj is more important than worrying about what people think of how it look

The first one, i would cut out the opening as its really only for show so i could use it. And they make ones with no ridge down the middle but i kinda like it with that.

lol.
I never said I wanted my jeep to look like a benz.. But I dont want it to look like a rice bucket, or a hacked up POS.
I think my jeep is a pretty good medium between decent looking and functional:

Second one. run it all the way to the front of the hood and it will cover the dip? body line, whatever we call it in the middle of the hood.
Cut a hole and you are good to go. Looks cool to, vents suck.

Yeah its 36 inches long and the hood is like 36 plus change. So i would just start it at that little indent thingy
