Default Homemade Aluminum Rocker Panels

hey guys this is my first post just got my xj a few weeks ago, it had some rush on the rocker panels so as a temp fix i took some aluminum stuck it on there threw some silicone on the top and bottom so no water would leak in a boom i think it looks pretty good what do you guys think ?

Did you por15 the rust before you covered them?

I used a different rust remover but I did put an anti rust product on it

If and when that decides to let go. replace with 2x6" steel sq. tube

If bare steel touches bare aluminum add a little water and you have electrolysis (i.e. everything turns to dust). Make sure there is some type of barrier between.

Yup we have silicone all over the back so it won't be touching
