Default Home brew spare tire mount

Just a ridiculous little mod that brought a smile to my face. I have the River Raider Hi Lift mount and I secured the spare tire to it with an S hook and an eye bolt. I was able to reuse all the other factory stuff. Cheapest mod ever, cost me about $1.80. Like I said, not life shattering but thought I would share

Nice man, I used my stock spare tire location to mount a small floor jack until I get a hi-lift

I didn't want to start a new thread for something so small. But here's my extinguisher mount. I got an extinguisher wall mount off Amazon and I had the hardware laying around. The only curve ball was there is about a 3/4" gap between the plastic trim piece and the metal frame below it so I built up the gap with washers and a nut. Seems really solid now and should stand up to daily driving. I'll fill in my access hole with a sub woofer. To be continued.......

Nice job! I wish the back of my XJ was that clean! My buddy has his Hi-Lift mounted in the back of his 4runner like this and i went to get it out last summer and had to crawl in there to get it... When i was coming back out i fell on top of the jack and it impaled me in the belly button! i had a bruise like 3 inches all they way around on my stomach for like 3 weeks! Sorry to hi-jack your thread but i thought i would share LOL

That's a sweet idea for placing your spare tire. I just mounted my high lift like that in the back now I may put my tire back there instead of on my roof thanks for the info!!!

I was going to throw it on the roof but it kills the MPG's and the tire carrier bumpers I liked were to darn expensive. Not my dream spot for the spare but for a couple of dollars worth of hardware you can't beat it.

That's a good idea, But I would not trust it especially in the event of an accident. I'll give you an A+ for thinking out of the box !

The tire and the lift are really solid. If one of them comes flying off I'm going to be so jacked I won't care.
