Default Bumper end caps

Just curious why do people take the bumper caps off of the factory bumpers?

My tires decided they got in the way and took matters into their own hands....

They tried to grab my rear bumper, but gave up, and in a fit of rage, just yanked off both fender flares instead!

Same here, my front right is only attached by one bolt and the rest I just slid right on...

Yeah after trimming for 33s I just didn't feel like trimming them as well. Plus one was messed up from rear ending a toyota Yaris.

I feel like the bumper would look a lot better if the actual bumper was the same width as the body

Mine were beat up from trail ridin'. That and the PO that had it repainted, used the wrong auto body shop. Cause they over sprayed on damn near every part of the jeep and broke the bolt holes to some of the end caps.

Most people take them off because their tire rub them on the 97-01 XJ's

I like the looks of mine but its cause they are Gloss black and Match the Flares and body, However I do plan on trimming mine soon.

The top of it is! Haha its just temporary until i get a new bumper. My fenders are trimmed way to much to still have the end caps anyways.

Default new front bumper

I have a new front bumper from e-bay on its way..... no end caps, so lets see how much luck the tires will have pulling it apart!!
