Some D-bag hit my jeep last night parked in front of my mom's house while I was visiting. It happened around 3 am and my neighbor heard it and saw a red truck or suv but didn't catch anything else.

Busted tailight, nice dent in NEW tailgate, and painted knocked off bumper. If you look you can see the semicircle left by their vehicle in my bumper. You can also see the dent in the tailgate......Man I was P.O.!!!



Little bro is holding old light in place after I replaced it with the parts jeep tail light. Only consolation to the whole thing....they hit my bumper.....

 

I hope you called the cops. With a Police report your insurance should cover this unless you just want to fix it youself.

Either way I would file a report.

 

I have liability so insurance wouldn't do anything.... Honestly the damage is not THAT bad is more less the principle of the thing. The someone would be so low as to hit another persons vehicle and then take off. I have a parts Jeep I am parting out so I had an extra tail light. The tail gate is what pisses me off the most.

I did call the cops and one came out and looked at it and said he could write a report but unless I found out who did it it wouldnt do me any good anyway, and I would have to pay for a copy of the report from the department anyway. The officer gave me his card and said if I found who did it to call him and he would take care of it.

 

Kinda similar to what happened to me. Someone threw a rock through the back window of mine sometime during the nigh. I filed a report, not really for me, I knew there was really no way to find out who did it but mainly so the cops could keep it on file for if it was happening all over.
