Default High school auto body paint job

Have any of you guys had the high school students in auto body class paint your Jeeps? If so, did they do a good job? I am thinking about getting them to do it but I don't know how it will turn out.

Moved to Chat.

It'll turn out like a high school kid did the job.

My brother had something painted on his tj. I can't remember what. But it takes along time because they only work on it 1-2 hours a day. They did a good job. The teacher supervises the whole process.

My dad had his Dodge Challenger painted by his high school class 30 years ago. It turned out great and he still has the same paint job today. If I ever get the chance, I'd like to get my Cherokee painted by my high schools tech class.

bring them a door or a fender or some other body panel all prepped out and ask them if they'll spray it with some leftover paint and see how it turns out
not your body panel of course see if you can get one for free somewhere. just make sure its decent size

Thanks for the help guys. The only thing I am worried about is that I am not in auto body class or I would have no problem with it. I will probably get them to paint it next year. They are already backed up this year.

I had a friend have a bad experience with this. He had his 78 Bronco done at a local school. They "lost" all his race track trim, they "lost" the paint he brought and painted it another color without contacting him, the body work they did was laughable, and the work took almost an entire school year (something to remember). I'd make sure to check with past customers who had work done and make sure they liked the work they got. It never hurts to ask for references and remember, not every year has the same crop of skill level. Don't expect the world and you may not be disappointed.
