high milage towing
I'm considering towing a 6 x 12 trailer with a bedroom's worth of stuff from CA to FL (2500mi).
I have a 99 cherokee sport 4.0L I6 with 155k. My reservations are due to a recent overheating episode on the way to Las Vegas on a steep climb. I've since then replaced the water pump, thermostat and radiator w/hoses. I've read about transmission coolers will purchase and install one prior to the trip.
What else should I do to make sure I don't kill the engine? Or, should I not attempt the trip? The trailer load will be very light, Ikea type furniture (bed, bookshelf, chair and desk) some books, clothes etc. Any constructive comments/suggestions appreciated.
