see if you can mount it or make up a mount for it to mount securely behind the rear seat. that is the safest and probably the best place to mount it without a roof rack mounting setup.

hood is just too dangerous.
back bumper is probably fine until someone rear ends you or you back into something.

that's my suggestion, just be safe and secure wherever you decide to mount it.

The back of the seat would be good since it's a thin sheet of metal. Ya' may wanna' remove the upholstery & bolt the mounting brackets instead of self tapping screws. May be a lil' too much of a back scratch for yer passengers. You'd need to remove it in order to take the upholstery off. Fairly easy to do. Just gotta remove it, take small screws from latch area then fish out the zippers and unhitch the thin rods from their slots. Good luck to ya'.

Probably easier to just use short self tappers. They may rattle loose later on but that would be the quick fix. *possum grin* Sorry bout the book I just wrote. Hahaha!

Wouldnt be too hard to pull out the roof panel throw some bolts and large washers and fab up some kind of mount on the roof right inside the hatch. But im more of keeping crap out of the way and you wouldnt wanna throw it back up there all muddy. I just use my rack to mount everything on

Be prepared ive had mine quite a few spots and it rattles really bad, even with the little isolator thing from 4 wheel hardware. If you choose to leave it mounted outside in the weather they don't work that well when you need to use it.

Hood is made of tin foil back bumper if you wanna use it as a battering ram.
I say make a custom mount on the roof.
