I have the 48" Hi-Lift and love it.... great in all kinds of situations... except jacking up the vehicle, not very sturdy for that.

I got the 48" high lift. Can be used for all kinds of ways. I've used it to move downed trees. As a come along to get unstuck. And it lifts the body high enough to change a tire.

Hi jacks work perfectly fine to jack up a rig, thats what they are for, but they have a small base and can be very dangerous, its better to get the wider base attatchment for them.

exactly. The base is too narrow and it's just not that stable. I think you can buy a a plastic base with a bigger footprint for it, But I haven't tried that yet to tell you wether it actually helps or not. Plenty strong enough to lift the jeep... but real easy to knock over.
