Default high flow cat?

so i've decided to redo my exhaust because it is rusted out and beat to crap. My question is what cat should i get that would go well with the flowmaster 40 series muffler i have decided to get. also what size tailpipe would you all suggest i get a 2 1/4 or a 2.5?

thank you.

2 1/4 cat off of summit most likely and did you make sure to get the 2.5 center in offset out muffler? then get the tailpipe that goes with the cat back system. if there's no cat back system for the muffler, call dynomax tomorrow and talk to them about getting just the tailpipe. they have the direct fits that use the stock hangers. im not one of those guys that tell people not to mess with the cat. its your jeep. do what you want. i do. and i have the dynomax cat back on mine

Chop that crappy restrictive converter off and slap a high flow in. Just go buy a 2 1/4" (sometimes 2") to 2.5" adapter from advance. Hell, you can even clamp it in. I did. Check out my build and see my sci-fi redneck engineering lol. But it holds up and doesn't leak. Plus, it breathes a lot better. As for the tailpipe, go check out mudfrog and knab a 2.5" mandrel bent tail for like $60. TOTALLY worth it for the stainless steel.

The center/offset is correct for the Jeep XJ.

Ok i got the center to offset flowmaster delta muffler after sitting there and fighting back and forth with the 17 year till i took the book and was like "look" ah people these day.

so im still looking for good suggestions on what kind of cat i should get, i ordered the dynomax 2.5 exhaust. the downpipe is 2 1/4 is there many high flows that go 2 1/4 to 2.5?

thanks

I worked at a junk yard and have looked at thousands of cats. Aftermarket cats all of them have the same amount of crap in side platinum radium and something else. Factory cats have different amounts of these and different configuration. All aftermarket cats are the same. I have compared them side buy side. Some companies slap the name high flow on them. And compered to a factory cat they are. But all aftermarket cats have the same material design and same amount of material. So find the cheapest one you can and it will operate the exact same as one that says high flow on it.
