Id worry about moisture being trapped between the top layer of bedlined carpet and the metal creating a mildew or mold issue. Carpet or cloth allow moisture to evaporate I'd think the bedliner might inhibit that, and if you bedlined any carpet over metal panels youd just be asking for Rust.
EDIT: Just saw you want to use the rattle can stuff...my guess is the carpet is gonna soak that stuff up like a candle wick....
