Ive read alot about it, and i'v pretty much convinced myself its a go but i really want to make sure i get enough. So heres the plan i want to do my Front header, grill, headlight trim, bumpers, and flares and lower quarters of my doors and rockers, but does it hold up very well on the plastic bumper end caps? And if i so how many gallons should i get i want to do at least 3 coats. Any help would be awesome and or pics of inspiration. Thanks

you could also go with the rattle can rocker guard i used this on my rear bumper and it looks great and its paintable

1 gallon covers a 6 foot bed truck with 2 coats i think. so I think 1 gallon should be enough.

Thanks guys, i figured 1 would be enough but i might as well get my wheelweels well im at it, so ill go with 2 just to be sure but im still wondering about those bumper ends. I know its says wait x amount of time between first and second coats but how long should i wait before go ahead and do a 3rd. And does anyone have any experience herculiner UV protective coat, does it work and is it worth it.

hey i painted my hole jeep with the red hurculiner i painted the doors last the thinnest since its my off road rig but everything else i got 2 thick coats on it,i also painted the interior floorboard too black,but the stuff holds up exelent havent had any peeling yet or fading but its only been 3 months here is the only picture i have of it ill take some more when ever i get a chance

I painted the bottom half of my zj with herculiner. 2 decent coats with one gallon, i stilll have enough to do the cladding on my zj.
I waited about 30 minutes after i painted to do the new coat. But took about 20 minutes from once side to the other of the jeep

I like the idea of lathering up whole jeep, i thought about it, haha not for this one its just needs a few more dents and scratches till i go about that but if i come across one for the right price down the road im going that route.

Anyone have herculiner on theirs for more than a couple months. Hows it holding up?

I've heard about one of my buddies had painted his floor with bedliner and left the carpet out and now anytime it gets a little hot his shoes will stick to the floor. What's that all about? Anybody else have this happen? Does it get sticky when its hot or something?

Sounds like rubberized undercoating. Which is just asphalt; not bed liner. But, I have heard of herculiner wearing off in those areas when they don't use a floor mat.

interesting, does it have the same effect on the outside of the vehical. Where i am, its 90-100 everyday in the summer and under 35 everyday of the winter. And are there any bad effect due to the cold, like -5 to 35 from freezing because thats pretty much my winter.

I did the floor of my jeep and it gets pretty hot, but never enough to melt my shoes. I used herculiner about 3 years ago and it has held up perfectly. Just hard to clean since its on the inside and you cant really get a hose in there haha

I did my rockers a little over a year ago and its held up pretty good. The only thing I tell you, is to prep good! Take your time sanding and scuffing up your paint where your going to herculine. On my jeep you can tell where I dident scuff up the paint good enough because I was trying to hurry and it came back and bit me in the ***. Its peeled in those spots and starting to come off. As long as you take your time it will turn out good.

I painted the lower part of my doors with truck bed coating so I just ran over the rockers while I was at it but Im stoll going to have the same problem in those spots. So make sure to take your time and prep right.

Never had a problem with it being sticky on hot days, and never had a problem with it on cold days eather. Like I said if you do it right then everything will work out and should turn out pretty good to.

Thanks for the insight JeepFreak, ive heard prep is key but will the sandblock that comes with the kit cut it. And what grit sandpaper should i use, is there a too rough when it comes to this stuff?

I used a red scotchbrite pad and just worked it over well, then cleaned it all up with mineral spirits. I did not use the UV protector coat over mine, and after about 4 months in the Texas sun it was closer to gray

So I got some black spray paint and went over it. No problems since!
