Default Herculine Fender flares or not?

So here's the deal, i'm trying to decide if I want to herculine my fender flares or not. I'm leaning towards doing it, but some other opinions would be great. Help influence my decision. Here are a couple pics before and after (photo shopped). Thanks in advance

Dan

I say No, they look good black but I would not Hurculine them. I would scuff them out with red scotch brite pad and paint them with a low gloss black paint.

I did on mine. I like the look of it. But then again mine is the older body style and a darker color. I say go ahead.

So setting the herculiner concept asside, what do ya'll think looks better, the painted to match flares, or the black?

But herculiner can look real good, if done right. Note that they both have TJ flares. Red one's mine.

Go ahead and put it on...
The Black Herculiner would match well with your red jeep...

I herculined mine...Came out great! Just make sure you leave at least a week before messing with them in the mud or anything else as it takes longer to bond on plastic!

Heck if that's your rationale, you should herculine the whole damn thing ... it's all gonna get scratched up, not just the flares. In fact, my flares are virtually scratch free while the sheet metal is custom pin-striped everywhere. Pictures simply do not show the condition of my paint!

If I use paint, it won't be anything too glossy, I'm leaning towards the darkside though.

Yeah, i'm not too worried about Scratches (though it is my DD). Funny you should mention herculining the whole thing, I'm contemplating doing that, because the clearcoat on mine is starting to look like crap, and I know a guy who does professional bedliners out of his garage. Now I just have to figure out what color I want it.
