help today when i put it in reverse i have it but when i accelerate nothing

Default help today when i put it in reverse i have it but when i accelerate nothing

help i posted a tread regarding trans over heat light. and got no response today i was with my kids and tried to reverse out of a parking spot and nothing. when i got home my jeep reverses slow but when i excelerate i get nothing.

i had this happen to my 95zj first i lost reverse not long after i lost drive. it sounds like your tranny is goin down the crapper

probably not going to save you anything going that way. dealership = stealership

i feel bad for you though, tranny problems are the worst because of how hard to work on they are. anyone can do engine work but you gotta really know and have tranny tools to work on transmissions.

x2 it cost me 1700 to have my tranny rebuilt in my zj and two weeks later some a**hole t-boned me and totaled it and the insurance companies played the blame game and washed there hands of both vehicles. end result no more zj and out 1700

Ugh. I had something similar happen in my old truck. Check your fluid level, it may be way low. But chances are the transmission crapped and needs to be rebuilt. And get a transmission cooler!

Sounds like just a low/reverse band adjustment. Most repair manuals can walk you through that repair/adjustment. If first gear engages ok then I would drop the pan and adjust the low/reverse before I condem the trans to a rebuild.
