Hi I have a 2 door manual 95 XJ at stock height, some one wants to to trade their 4 door auto 94 with a 3 inch skyjacker lift for mine, his has 10k more miles (177,xxx) and he has custom bumpers, I'm just unsure if I want to lose my 2 door manual XJ. This is an epic decision! Thoughts?

Keep the one you have, trust me on that. You have kind of a rare XJ with 10k less miles, a year newer, and bone stock. The other is a year older, has 10k more on the clock, has a lift that might have been hacked together, and you could bet there has been some abuse at some point. The 95 XJ is kind of a rocket out of all the years produced, the two door is a rare find with a 5 speed for that model year. Keep it.

Thanks guys for the input I think why I'm so torn though is cause I really want a lift but with bills and stuff it's hard to achieve and this is an instant go for no cost. But the not knowing if the lift was just jacked together is a great point I think I might keep it after all

Don't let your want for a lift trump the coolness of the rig you already have. I would bet money on the fact you would spend more money to keep the other rig going, and fixing junk that has been broken by the PO. Save your pennies and buy a quality lift, you'll be a lot happier.

Piece together your own lift. super easy to do. just go to a "pull apart" "pick n pull" go over and start ripping out suspension from other trucks. F150 or F250 coil springs for the front, and rear shackles from a ford ranger/bronco 2, and a set of leafs from either a s10, dakota, or find a some other leafs and cut em to the size you need. Thats what i did. I have a 4in lift now, for cheap, you just gotta search for what you want. you can get a full suspension set up for your rig under $80, verse something for $800 for a full kit offline. all depends on the eye of the buyer.

One mans trash is another's treasure, tons of lift threads about it on here. but you gotta keep in mind. Cheap can also have its issues. like you would need to replace something because its been used/warn already. who knows how rough someone else rode on em.

I would still save for a new lift that was engineered for an XJ, not some cobbled together "hope it works" lift.

DO IT!!!!!!!

think of all the extras you get

3" more lift
2 extra doors
10k extra miles

seriously though keep yours

i got my 3" AAL lift kit for under 300 bucks
take the cost of switching titles and plates over and you will probably get close to that number
