Help plesse!
My 82 yr old Dad who isn't of sound mind keeps driving and will not give up the second key. How do I disable the ignition easily? He's still astute enough to see if the battery is missing etc, but it's not safe for him and others on the roadway.

This is a real problem for a lot of seniors and the people who care for them.
I would look at disabling the ignition since that will 100% stop the engine from even firing up for a short period of time. If it's a pre-2000 XJ with a distributor, pulling out the rotor will nicely disable things and won't be readily visible. (A trick I remember from The Rockford Files.) The engine will crank but not kick over at all. (He'd probably just run the battery down.) Pulling a fuse or relay associated with the ignition system would also work.
