I just punched in the shipping from Richmond VA to Detroit MI. The tire doesn't need packaging, just use clear packing tape and wrap the information around it several times so the label doesn't come off and ship it direct.
I looked up the tire and it should weigh between 42 and 45 lbs.
FedX was at $31.60
UPS was at $42.08
US Postal Service $65.00
I didn't know the cities so I guessed but it's all about the same.

I can help out, i would love to do the driving thing too but I'm kinda out of the way (it sounds wayyyyyy funner than UPS)

The Guy I'm going to do it for(if still needed) is going to try to find another way to deal with the issue. If one of you could help him get the ones he has mounted that would be amazing! However, if he can't find a work around I'm still ready and planning to pull the tire off the rim and have it shipped to him. Its not a definite yes or no yet, but I'll update the tread when I hear more from him.
