buy a lockout kit. I had to peel the chrome off of the rear window. then only the rubber seal was left.
I was able to pop the window in and out at that point using a flathead screw driver
other options, break back seat window because theyre pretty easy to replace on your own from the JY
or call a tow service.
picking the lock is tough and I dont know the hanger trick. good luck

Local cab companies here unlock cars for 25 bucks. Locksmiths run like 60.

AAA emergency road service can slim-jim it open.

Maybe you know someone who is a member. They might call for you if you ask nicely.

Straighten out a coat hanger and put a small hook on the end Kinda like and L and drop it down forward of the locking mechinisim drop it down to the level of the lock and then fish around till it hooks . angel the hanger away from the lock (towards the front of the rig and pull. should do it.

That seems like a horrible idea to me. I would never break my window to get into my jeep.

first off, I had payed $500 for it. it had so many problems I wouldnt even have noticed a missing window
and I wasnt home and it was pouring rain with no place to go indoors nearby
I didnt end up breaking it. but hey some desperate times call for desperate measures haha

If nothing else, most insurance companies offer lock out recovery (ie someone comes and slim-jims the door) as a free service with your policy. My state farm policy does anyhow.

once you get your keys pick one of these up and keep a spare key somewhere on your rig. I learned my lesson, so this is my backup. Good luck

Get a wedge. Even a wooden door stop works.

Stick it into the top crack of the door, right under the drip rail.

Get a coat hanger, straighten it out, but put a little curve into it, and a loop on the end.

Pry the door frame out a bit, just enough to slip the coat hanger, loop end first, inside.

Hook it around the door handle, and pull. If it's like my 2000, the door will unlock by pulling the inside handle.

If the door frame is slightly bent out when you're done, just bend it back in.

There ya go! Easy as pie.
