okay I'm filling a tool box for my XJ and would like to hear your thoughts on the tools I should concentrate on that would most likely be used, and the tools you found yourself without that you wished you had, on the trail or the road..
was prompted to start this cause I went to sears to return a broken ratchet and browsed for a 10mm open end wrench, found a sale for 9 open end wrench's for $19... snag..... just a little over $2 wrench
this can be trail and/or highway specific.. pics are more then welcome
here's the scatter before I put something together, I have a lot of extra sizes of practically everything from ratchets, sockets, wrenchs, drivers...
what sizes of what do you find yourself using most??, common size nuts mostly found out xj?? etc

A folding 4 way lug wrench is nice to have so is a mini floor jack if you got room to carry it.The normal tools a good 80 something piece set should cover most stuff. On the trail carry extra fluids all of them both radiator hoses and few feet of heater core hose too.

X2 on that, hoses aren't necessary , duct tape can temp fix that till off the trail, deff all types of fluids, axle shafts and u joints are a good idea, looks like you already have enough wrenches and sockets and ratchets to cover mostly everything, a hi lift jack would be a bit better to carry, put on roof or bumper or inside wherever really and some recovery gear if you don't have a winch, I always carry a little compressor just in case of flat or air downs, a jug of water would be good just in case of overheating or say you had to spend the night on the trail, hammer or type of pry bar would come in handy in situations, saw or axe in case of having to spend night you'd have a way to get a little fire or what not, but other then the longest sentence I just wrote you should be good!
haha
haha
spare serpentine belt. crowbar. recovery gear. x2 on the 36mm socket. 1/2 breaker bar and sockets. ratchet straps.
A good tip is to attempt to do a common trail repair (front axle shaft or something) in your driveway using only the tools in your Jeep. Get whatever tools you are missing.
