You're better off with an oem bottle-jack. You could use a hi-lift at the bumper mounting points but thats about it.

Stock tires are 29", so it won't be a problem.

Hi-lift jacks should only be used off-road, there are NO safe ways to use them, they are very dangerous. But they are tough and can save your butt off-road.

And you got this info where? I've got the rubber 12" base for mine so it's more stable and I use it all the time. There's no more danger in a hi-lift than any other jack.

hi-lifts are only dangerous when they're not kept in good condition/not used properly. Worn out, un-oiled springs and pins on a hi-lift can keep it from locking the pins in, resulting in those unexpected drops. Just like anything else mechanical you have to take care of it for it to function correctly.

LOL. You know the kit to fix it isn't that expensive. I'd try that before buying a new one..

did know there was a kit? naw its old though man... the bottom plate is held on by a giant cotter key and swivels around... causes everything to fall left or right.... i thought about degreasing it... welding on a larger bottom plate... welding the bottom to the plate lol... painting and regreasing... but after all that work and time i may as well go to tractor supply and pick me up another...

Yeah....now that you've explained it's current condition, a new one would be better. That and they're only like $60.
