Where can I find an extinguisher that doesn't come with a plastic holder for my xj. I just want a 2lb or so.

You can just buy one and not use the holder. Do you have something against plastic holders?

If it breaks just make a brace out of a hose clamp ring and a small piece of aluminum plate. Rivet the clamp to the aluminum and bolt the aluminum to where ever you want the extinguisher to be.

I would not trust the plastic mount at all. Mine broke(plastic tab sheared off) after a hard landing on the rocker panel, and it came flying out. If I'd have rolled, it would have been bouncing everywhere.

Kinda depends how/where you mount it too.

The B-pillar isn't as wide as the C-pillar so you may have some flex issues mounting it there. I would recommend either the C-pillar or between the driver's seat and the door sill on the floor.

Between the driver's seat and the door is a good mount location, easy to reach and it isn't hanging by the mount since the floor is usually on the bottom.
