Default Help with brakes

Hi folks.
I have just replaced the back pads springs etc on my 96 xj. Now there is a grinding coming from the back. I have the self adjusters set properly and everything is fitted correctly. Do these take time to bed in or have I got a problem. Would appreciate any help.

Do they grind all the time or only when you hit the brakes?
