Heim quick questions??
So I have been researching heim joints.
3/4 x 3/4-16 bung.250... So backwards- .250 is what goes into the rod/sleeve, 16 is the thread, 3/4 is thread thickness. What is the first 3/4? Thats my question, also, what size heims should I go with? I have a D 30 chromoly locked, 4.5" lift, with 35's . I wheel hard, but love cruising the streets. I've read 1 ton TRE are better for the road, shall I go with those? If so, I can't find kits with the bungs and TRE. Heim and bung..everywhere, even down the street!
Thanks for any GOOD input

I've read lots going with heims. But I just found the 1 ton TRE complete at Ruff Stuff Specialties, I've been Googling for over a day, non stop. Its seems they have the tapered sleeve for OTK, TRE with the bung, same for the drag link ends. So I just need to buy tube...right? I am very new to fab, but capable, with the right info. Been practicing my welds and the pro says he is happy and comfortable with my progress... Time to go for it!

The other 3/4 is bore size (the size of the bolt that you're gonna put through it). On my drag link and tie rod I run heims with 3/4" threads and a 5/8" bore. Never had any trouble out of the heims rather than them just wearing out but i've bent a couple of those 5/8" round bolts.

If you go with heims don't forget misalignment spacers. Those will step your bore size down to 5/8".
3/4 x 3/4-16
3/4 inch bolt (Bore) x 3/4-16 shank. You need 1.5"x.25" wall DOM.

I'm piecing my own, yes. Is 3/4 bore too big? I thought the spacer was for the drag.

TMRcustoms had a great video to explain the misalignment spacers. I'm leaning towards the 1 ton TRE from Ruff Stuff, which leaves me with figuring out how to mount the drag link.... Custom bracket on the spindle? Does someone make that?

I guess I'm worried about the vibrations and noise I've read about with the heims... But would be a lot easier to mount the drag, from what I've seen.
