And absolutely get the 3m spray adhesive. It's more expensive but it works great and about as close to what they use in factories as you can get. It's all we use at work (Nissan/Subaru/Kia dealership).
How do you prevent the glue from seeping through the material? I bough some basic camo cloth and when I tried a test piece the 3M seeped through turning the white spots a yellowish color like the 3M glue.

If the fabric is really thin or pouris it will seep like a ****.. mine was pretty thick stuff. I also was very conservative while useing the adhesive. I did it in many many sections, and put on two light coats of glue then stretched the fabric over and let it dry some before I moved on. Took a good 2+ hours to get the fabric on.

Just a side note, use the high temp 3m glue, in the summer you truck will be 150+* inside and the regular 3m spray adhesive and the cheap junk will start to separate after a few heat cycles.

I don't know if this would work or not, but maybe wait for the glue to get a little more tacky. If it's not as wet, it may not seep as easily.

Its a stock factory sunroof that was offered on the limited trim and some larados. Its nice but its a pain in the ***.. its noisy as all hell when going over 35mph and there's allot of upkeep on it, if I had the choice I would get rid of it.

The 3M glue requires it be sprayed on both surfaces. I tried just spraying the console and letting it sit for a min then applying the cloth but it didn't hold. Came right off when I tried to pull it apart. I'm just gonna go get some cloth with back padding. That should prevent it.

Cover both the material and the board and let it set up for 5-10 minutes til it's dry but still sticky, otherwise you'll leave handprints all in it.

don't forget to clean the board of old glue and i mean clean, i used a soft bristle brush and scrubbed the board till it looked almost new, once its clean you'll have no problems getting the fabric to stick.

Vacuum hose works well if you don't press too hard, especially if you're using that attachment that has the brush on the end on an older board.

I ripped my headliner out, and spray painted the cardboard underneath the fabric.

looks perfect

do you think there would be a better way to make the sunroof? And is is it because of the flexing of the roof that causes all the problems?

There are aftermarket kits, there not cheap and if you f-up it'll cost you dearly. The problems I'm having are do to the glass seal, its old and very hard to find. You could find a factory setup and possably install it in yours... but that's a tricky project and depend on how big your gull is lol or like you said earlier make a viewport with some thick plexiglass
