Neal knew what he was doing. That said, it was a side hustle for him. He never meant to have a thriving business, he made some side scratch, nothing more. What drove him away was people dissing his product, which was superior in every way, price included. It came to be more of a hassle, and cheapskates ruined it for every one else...
FWIW I chat with him often,, and he is just fine.. He got out of the jeep game and focused on his family and career, and his fab skills are second to none..
Just my perspective...based on fact and not conjecture.

If you want the kit still, go for Jeepcables, I guarantee his quality is just as good if not better. Big difference in quality when you make something by hand instead of bulk buy and repackage. That's what justifies the price difference.

I was speaking in general terms. And yet, his case also illustrates my point. It either becomes a "real" business, or it doesn't last. The middle ground just doesn't work for the long term. It's not really worth it to the businessman, and he figures that out eventually and walks away, or he denies reality and crashes.
Did he make any announcement about shutting it down?

I had a long talk with Paul from Jeepcables.com and I've decided to list his business on my website as the "go to" for quality upgrade cables.
Made in USA is very important to him and it reflects in his product content and quality.

I got tired of this hobby so I got out, I sold everything. I sold my jeeps, I sold all my spare parts, I split up MeanLemons and sold off all the assets & blueprints to the competitors.
it’s a win win for me. I never had any losses in doing all this in the 8 years I was in this hobby.

lol no it doesn’t. It never was a real business. It merely was just a way to finance my jeeping hobby. Nothing more. I never intended to turn it into a “real” business and don’t want to. It wasn’t gonna last because realistically speaking, I wasnt gonna keep this hobby going. I don’t want to use my personal money to dump on the hobby so I decided to sell stuff on the side so I have something to spend on. I can’t speak for other people who started up and then failed. That has nothing to do with me.

I like this guy. Bit of drama and he just comes in and clears everything up after he's been gone for however long. Everyone should put some respec on his name XD. Anyone who is out of the Jeep world but still came on a Jeep forum to clear up his name when he doesn't need to give a damn gets my vote. Goodluck XJwonders and I hope you enjoyed creating things that other Jeepers enjoyed and many believed to be high quality products.
