Default Ham Radio/CB Mounting

Did a search, but didnt find what I wanted really.

Im mostly looking for ideas of where to mount a Ham radio, its much like the CB in size (sometimes)

If any of you have any ideas of where to mount a HAM Radio, let me know. Post pictures please!

Its for a 1999 Jeep Cherokee Classic

Around the center console looks bad, sticks out and looks bad IMO.

I was more of hoping someone had a nice custom spot for them.

I will be mounting the base to my FT8800 in the rear, right behind the spare tire and will most likely put the face plate in that little indentation in front of the ash tray.

With a little modification, you can fit a full size CB and after market DIN size radio in the dash.

89, nice setup and great pic. DK, the 8800 is a perfect setup for this type of vehicle. Mount the base in the back end, behind the spare where it has almost constant protection and then the faceplate can go just about anywhere up front. I hope to mount mine this week, when I do I will post pics.

I hoped and prayed a little, did not get it mounted yet. I am thinking of just mounting my Alinco in there but not sure yet. The Alinco is designed to take the abuse a little better.

Where did you run your antenna and what are you using for antenna?
