Because a tire of that size will rub the lca. And judging by the fact that it's stock it definitely has stock lca's. I had 31x10.50's on the same rims on my 95 stock and they rubbed the lca like a mother. Amongst other things..

Im running somewhere about 4-4.5 inches of lift on my newest aquired xj. Some trimming. Just mild trimming. And i can tuck 35's with some minor rubbing. If i trimmed more i wouldent rub but i only test ran a buddies set of 35's to see if i could still flex on em.
