so i found smoke coming out from underneath my jeep. i got down and looked under it and it looked as though it was rolling off of the tranny or coming from above it. my rear main seal is leaking and i was wondering if the smoke could just be the oil dripping over the hot transmission. is that what it is or should i get it looked at?

 

Could be hitting your exhaust, or something that's close enough to get heated by the exhaust.

I'd suggest taking a better look before paying for someone else to look lol.

 

X2 probably hitting your exhaust or near it. Mine does the same exact thing. It's because my rear main seal was repaired by (me) and STILL leaks. Runs down and drips on the exhaust= smoke!

 

yea come to think of it i think it was hitting the exhaust. ill take a better look tomorrow. thx guys
